NY Times: Pete Hegseth and His ‘Battle Cry’ for a New Christian Crusade

Hegseth has praised the brutal religious military campaigns of the past and has called for a Christian approach to governing.

Rebuttal by

Pete Hegseth -- the Q operative heading Commander Trump's Department of Defense -- has, by design, brought attention to the long forgotten and historically distorted Medieval military campaigns known as "The Crusades" (oooh, so scary!) . From the article: . "Before Donald J. Trump picked him to lead the Department of Defense, Pete Hegseth spoke often about a medieval military campaign that he saw as a model for today: the Crusades, in which Christian warriors from Western Europe embarked on ruthless missions to wrest control of Jerusalem and other areas under Muslim rule..As he embraced a combative brand of Christianity in recent years, he wrote that people who enjoy the benefits of Western civilization should “thank a Crusader.” On his arm, he has a tattoo with the words “Deus Vult,” which he has described as a “battle cry” of the Crusades..“Voting is a weapon, but it’s not enough,” he wrote in a book, “American Crusade,” published in May 2020. “We don’t want to fight, but, like our fellow Christians one thousand years ago, we must.” . . "Deus vult" is a Latin phrase meaning "God wills it," historically used as a rallying cry for the First Crusade in the 11th century and later adopted as a motto of the Catholic Military Order, the Knights Templar, for subsequent crusades. This sort of symbolism and imagery makes "the usual suspects" very agitated -- and it is deliberate.
Deus Vult and the Jerusalem Cross. Hegseth is invoking the fighting spirit of the Knights Templar.
Hegseth's flirtation with Knights Templarism offers us a good teachable moment for setting the record straight about the Crusades. The distorted history concocted by Jewish Marxists and parroted by their pseudo-intellectual Libtarded dupes maintains that the purpose of the Medieval campaigns was to conquer Muslims and Jews while committing atrocities against them. More than a few bigoted anti-Catholic Protestant Pastors and the Communist Poop Francis himself regurgitate this perjurious puke by wrongly portraying the Crusades as a shameful stain on Christianity -- the latter even apologizing for them! . The truth is, the Catholic Crusaders, notwithstanding the Fourth Crusade -(originally intended to recapture Jerusalem but ending with the fraternal sacking of Eastern Orthodox Christian Constantinople instead) - were heroes fighting conflicts which clearly met the moral standards of the Church's "Just War" doctrine, first defined by Bishop / Philosopher Saint Augustine (354-430). . There were eight major crusades between 1096 and 1270. But what the Fake History narrative conveniently omits from the context are the numerous imperialistic and violent incursions into Christian lands and Europe proper itself for the previous 700 years. The Crusades were a mix of preemptive defense of Europe combined with a desire to reclaim the considerable territory, including the Holy Lands of Palestine, that the ever-expanding Turks and Arabs had conquered. How many people are even aware of the historical fact that most of the Middle East and Turkey, as well as the North African coastal areas, were White Christian lands. Had the invaders not been confronted, they would eventually have conquered all of Europe, as they had done to parts of the Southeast (Balkans). . But you see, the White Man, particularly if he's Christian, is not supposed to defend himself. That's "racism" and "Christian Bigotry," dontcha' know? And that, boys and girls, in a nutshell, is the general backstory of the Crusades that "they" don't want you to know about -- but apparently, the Q Operative Defense Secretary does. . Winning.
THE TRUTH ABOUT THE CRUSADES 1. Christendom once included the lands of modern-day North Africa, Turkey and the Middle East. // 2 & 3. For centuries, formerly nomadic Seljuk Turks (and Arab Moors in the West) relentlessly AND BRUTALLY pushed northward into Christian Europe. The Orthodox Christians of the East appealed to Catholic Rome for PROTECTION -- which then turned to attempts at reclamation of lost territories and the Holy Land.
