The nitwitted "educated" normies who kneel in Sulzberger's slop each day may miss the qualifying parsed language here -- but regular readers of The Anti-New York Times will no doubt catch the sleight-of-tongue from the very opening paragraph. Nonetheless, the weasel words are highlighted in bold red for "youse guys."

Oy stinkin' vey! One couldn't write better satire to mock the Slimes' half-assery than this bit of minced manure being passed off as "a New York Times analysis."
1. The use of "Weasel Words" allows a dishonest speaker / writer to lie his ass off while leaving himself an plausible escape clause. // 2 & 3. The objective of this "New York Times analysis" is to frighten the mental subjects of Normiedom with the prospect of Russian missiles attacking the United States.
In spite of the fact that this make-believe war in the eastern Ukraine was over and done more than a year ago --(with the vastly superior Russians having achieved their limited objectives) -- the rumblings and ruminations of a possible World War III scenario have not abated. To the contrary, such crazy talk is gradually intensifying. Just Google: "Russia World War 3" and behold the tsunami of "mainstream media" scare stories which mention it as a real possibility now. Echoing the media hype, Trump and Putin are also sounding the alarm. Thankfully for us all -- it is a false alarm. Here's why:

Trump's conspicuous fixation with Nessun Dorma has to mean something. This becomes especially obvious when we translate the repeated lyrics of the positively goose-bumpy closing crescendo from Italian to English: "Nessun Dorma" (None shall sleep) and "Vincero" (I will win!):
